DirectMatch brings candidates and employers together through smart AI matching. To do that well, we process a limited amount of personal data. In this policy we explain honestly and clearly what data that is, why we use it and what rights you have.


Who are we?

DirectMatch is a Dutch platform that connects candidates to suitable vacancies based on skills and experience. We are the data controller for the personal data you share via our platform. Questions? Send an email to privacy@directmatch.nl.


What data do we collect?

We only collect data needed to make the platform work.

Technical and usage data

On each visit we anonymously record how the website is used, for example which pages are visited or how often a vacancy is viewed. This data cannot be traced back to an individual and is not shared with third parties.


What do we use your data for?

Matching

We analyse your profile or vacancy to find the best match. We do this automatically with the help of AI, but always under your own control.

Account and access

We use your data to let you log in, manage your account and recognise you when you return.

Communication

We send you notifications about new matches, application updates or messages from employers. You decide which notifications you receive.

Improving the platform

Anonymous usage data helps us improve how the platform works. We never look at individual users in doing so.

Legal obligations

In exceptional cases we are legally required to retain data or provide it to authorities.


How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data no longer than necessary. These are the periods we use:

Account dataUntil you delete your account, then erased within 30 days
Applications1 year after submission
Vacancy data1 year after the vacancy closes
Anonymous usage dataIndefinite (not traceable to a person)
Legally required dataIn accordance with statutory retention periods

Do we share your data?

We never sell your data. We only share it in the following situations:

Other users on the platform

When you apply for a vacancy, the platform shares your profile with the relevant employer. You control what is visible.

Technical service providers

We use external parties for infrastructure, email and error tracking. These parties may only process your data on behalf of DirectMatch.

Legal obligation

If legally required, we may provide data to competent authorities, but only to the extent strictly necessary.


Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights. You can exercise them via privacy@directmatch.nl. We respond within 30 days.

Access

You can request what data we hold about you.

Correction

Something incorrect? We are happy to adjust it.

Erasure

You can ask us to erase all your data, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Restriction

You can ask us to temporarily restrict the processing of your data.

Data portability

You can request a copy of your data in a common file format.

Objection

You can object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Do you disagree with how we handle your data? Then you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.


Cookies

We use a limited number of cookies to make the website work and to remember your settings. We place no advertising or tracking cookies. Everything about our cookies can be found in our cookie policy.


Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Connections are always encrypted, access to our systems is limited to employees who really need it and we regularly perform technical checks. Found a vulnerability? Let us know via privacy@directmatch.nl.


Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. We communicate significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. The date at the top of this page always shows when the policy was last revised.
